Marlene Peters

Marlene S. Peters, 73 of Champaign, IL passed away on November 18, 2015 at 3:07 pm. Marlene was born in Vincennes the daughter of Orvel and Ruby Hollen. She married Norman Peters on June 4, 1966 in Vincennes and he preceded her in death on April 118, 1998. Marlene worked for twenty five years as a head cook in the Unit Four School District. Mrs. Peters was also a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening and walking everyday and never met a stranger. Survivors include her son, Derrick Peters of Champaign, IL; sisters, Helen Peters and her husband Wayne and Donna Hall and her husband Garry both of Vincennes; brothers, Roger Hollen and his wife Chris of Newburgh, IN and Steve Hollen and his wife Amy of Carmel, IN; many nieces and nephews in addition to many special friends. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, a son, and a brother, Tom Hollen. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main St, Vincennes, IN. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the funeral home with Rev. Cheryl Garbe officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
