Martha Jensen

Martha Jane James Jensen, 89, passed away at 1:40 pm on August 31, 2013 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Martha was born on September 19, 1923 in Owensboro, KY the daughter of James and Katherine (Andermatt) Schoonover. Martha was a member of St. John Catholic Church. She had worked for American National Bank serving as Vice-President. Martha was an avid duplicate bridge player, where she achieved life master status. She also was a member of Tri-Kappa, St. John's Altar Society and many bridge clubs. She loved her family and friends. Survivors include daughters, Jan Sullivan of Cincinnati, OH; Linda Levell and her husband, Jim of Vincennes; son, Fred James of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Colleen and Patrick Sullivan, Amy L. Ponce and her husband Dan, Nicholas James, Mark James and his wife Sonya; great grandchildren, Seth and Alyson James, Connor and Kate James, Maya Levell Ponce; sister, Anne Nugent and her husband, Maurice and many wonderful nieces and nephews. . Martha was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dennis Sullivan; two sisters, Mildred Risch and Helen Davis and one brother, James Schoonover. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 am on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at St. John Catholic Church with the Rev. David Fleck celebrating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may visit with Martha's family from 6-8 pm on Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway.
