Martha Irene Joyce passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at the Lodge of the Wabash. Martha was born on August 2, 1921 in Washington, IN to James and Buthel Giley.She married Ernest Wallace who was killed in action during WWII. She then married Billy K. Joyce who died in 1991.Survivors include two daughters, Patty Dreiman and her husband Jim of Monroe City and Cindy Banks and her husband Wilbur of Evansville. Three grand children: Lori Buehlman, Jeff Dreiman and Liza Anne RasicoTwo Great grand children: Benjamin Dreiman and Brandon RaceySix great great grand children: Kaylyn, Blake, Maycie, Bradlee, Jaycek and Koltyn, sister Mary Bateman and a brother, Hollis Gilley. Preceding Martha in death were two brothers, Lioneal and Carl. Martha served in WWII as a WAVE in the U. S. Navy. She was a 71 year member of the Eastern Star. Her memberships included the American Legion Auxiliary, Franklin Heights Christian Church and RSVP. She was an avid euchre player; the last member of a group of ladies who played weekly since 1947. She enjoyed her birds and games shows. Martha retired after 25 years in the men's alteration dept of Walk's Store on Main Street. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Ron Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday. On line condolences may be sent at www.goodwinfamilyfh.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Love A Bear program.
