Martha Lacy

Martha A. Lacy, 92, of Vincennes, passed away at 11:10 p.m. Monday January 13, 2014 at BridgePointe Health Campus.She was born August 1, 1921 in Vincennes to Merlin K. and Anna (Fish) Bierhaus.Martha was a life-long member of the Old Cathedral Catholic Church, Psi Iota Xi, and was a 1939 graduate of St. Rose Academy. After raising her family she worked in the Social Science Division labs at Vincennes University from 1969 until her retirement in 1986. Her focus was her family and traveling extensively all over the world. Surviving are her children; Jack (Annie) Lacy Jr. Noblesville, Tim (Susan) Lacy of Carmel, Richard (Phyllis) Lacy of Vincennes, and Ann Mayes of Vincennes; her grandchildren, Kelly (Brian) Parvis, John Lacy, Matt (Megan) Lacy, Craig Lacy, Marianne Lacy, Suzanne Lacy, Tom (Katie) Lacy, Eric Lacy, Rob Mayes, Jim (Lindsey) Mayes; her great grandchildren, John Lacy, Lacie Parvis, Brady Parvis, and Adie Parvis.Preceding Martha in death were her parents, her husband, Jack Lacy Sr. whom she married July 26, 1941 and passed on April 26, 1980; a brother, William Bud Bierhaus; and a sister, Barbara Jane Bierhaus Allen.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2014 at Old Cathedral Catholic Church with Rev. John Schipp officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Goodwin Funeral Home.
