Marty Davis

Marty Dale Davis passed away, unexpectedly, on the evening of March 7, 2015. Marty was born on February 16, 1957 to Delvie Dale and Iva Mae (Reynolds) Davis. He was a lifelong resident of Vincennes, Indiana attending Washington Elementary School, Clark Middle School and Lincoln High School. At the age of 13 he met his wife and life-long best friend, Susan. They graduated high school together in 1975 and went on to marry in 1978. As a family, they had three boys, and later two granddaughters. In November of 2014 he and Susan moved to Franklin to be near their children and grandchildren.Marty retired from Frontier in March of 2013 after 35 years of hard work and dedication. He lived life to the fullest as a husband, father, grandfather, friend, and so much more. While he was a simple man, he had many hobbies as a craftsman, musician, artist, and man of strong faith. He loved vacationing with his family in Alabama and sharing his wisdom and craft with his three boys. But his true passion was to give and to love, and found the most reward in doing so. Marty is survived by his wife, Susan Davis, three sons: Levi Dale (Linsey Steckel), Seth Marvin (Chrislyn) and Micah Martin (Ashley) Davis, two granddaughters: Burke Mae and June Adeline Davis and sister: Tanya Davis.Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00, on Tuesday, at Goodwin Funeral Home.
