Marvin R Gasser, 85, quietly passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born March 30, 1927 in Decker Chapel, IN to Roy and Ruth (Catt) Gasser who preceded him in death.Marvin married Alethea Faith (Westfall) Gasser on January 27, 1949 and remained married for 51 years before Alethea's death on November 17, 2000. Marvin worked as a farmer until 1952, the Frosted Food Locker for seven years, and Prestolite for 20 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Marvin is survived by his four children, Deborah Hamilton (Donald) of Carrollton, TX, Johnathan (girlfriend Laurie Van Horn)Gasser of Terre Haute, IN, Sarah Later (Frank), of Anderson, IN, and Abigail Gasser of Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren Charity Peter (Gene) of Zionsville, IN and Timothy Hamilton (Leah), Houston, TX; sister, Nancy Fehrenbacher (Sam) of Olney, IL, one niece, two nephews, and several grand nieces and nephews.Marvin's family would like to extend its most sincere appreciation to the staff of Miller's Merry Manor, GreenTree Assisted Living, and the Palliative Care Unit at St. Francis in Indianapolis, for the excellent care they provided in his final months. We also want to thank Lisa and Brian Jarvis and Kathy Smithers for all of their assistance and thoughtfulness shown to Marvin during his time in Indianapolis.
