Marvin Vollmer

Marvin Ralph Vollmer, 76, passed away on August 22, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Marvin was born on July 28, 1936 the son of Gilbert and Elizabeth (Theriac) Vollmer. Marvin was a graduate of Vincennes Lincoln High School and worked for Top Boy for many years, and most recently worked at KCARC Dove Manufacturing Plant. He was an avid bowler playing in several leagues. He also loved playing cards and watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers. Survivors include his sisters, Marilyn Vieck of Vincennes; Patty Lowe of Vincennes; twelve nieces and nephews and several great nieces and great nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wayne and Carl Vollmer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Kate Lambertson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Marvin's family on Friday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Johns United Church of Christ.
