Mary Allen

Mary "Betty" Allen, 83, of Vincennes, (formerly of Lawrenceville, IL) passed February 28, 2013, after an extended illness, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Born July 14, 1929, in Lawrenceville, IL, she was the daughter of Bernard and Beulah (Cotton) Roland. They preceded her, as well as her husbands, Willis "Willie" Allen, who passed away Jan. 23, 2012, L. Bentley Fish, and Ronald Weeks; sisters, Ellen Goss and Judy Guthrie; brothers, Eugene Roland, Paul Roland, and Carl Roland. Betty was a lifelong homemaker. She loved her cats. Surviving is her son, John R. (Dorothy) Fish; her daughter, Sue Ellen Kemp; grandchildren, Jason R. (Courtney) Fish of Ft. Benning, GA, Christopher T. (Nicole) Fish of Vincennes, Ashley M. (fiance' Travis Tolliver) of Vincennes, and Golden Kemp of Treasure Island, FL; great-grandchildren MeKayla Kemp and Gavin Fish; step-daughters, Vicki Wells and Debra Calverley; step-grandchildren, Roman Wells, Alyschia Wells and Brian Calverley; several step-great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Tanner of Indianapolis, IN; a niece, Mr. and Mrs. Charlene Brown of Indianapolis, IN; nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Charley of Florida; and several great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 PM EDT, on Thursday, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, conducted by Rev. Rick Grant. Interment will be in Lawrenceville City Cemetery in Lawrenceville, IL.
