Mary Carbonell

Mary Ann Haag Carbonell, 61, of Atlanta, passed away at 6:10 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital.She was born May 16, 1953 in Vincennes to Carl and Anna (Thomas) Haag.She was in the first graduating class at Rivet. She studied nursing at Vincennes University and went on to earn her B.S. from the University of Miami (Fl.). She knew the love of many friends and traveled the world. She found great meaning in life's simple pleasures; foremost among them were music, sunsets, dancing, and a good glass of wine. She loved life and confronted every challenge with courage and grace.Surviving are her children, Brianna Carbonell of Houston, Texas and Joaquin Carbonell IV of Washington D.C.; her brothers and sisters, Leon Haag of Germantown, TN, Michael Haag of Vincennes, Debra Ross of Vincennes, Karen Frey of Farmersburg, and Carl "Skeet" Haag of Memphis.Preceding her in death were her parents, and two sisters, Sandra and Carolyn Haag.A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
