Mary Darnold

Mary Loel Organ Darnold, 94, passed away on December 17, 2018 at Imboden Creek Living Center in Decatur, IL. Mary was born on February 11, 1924 in Vinceness the daughter of Jess Orlan and Thelma Lorean (Hicks) Organ. She married Dr. Gene L. Darnold on January 19, 1944 and he preceded her in death on April 7, 2007.Mary graduated from Vincennes Lincoln High School and attended Mary Crest College in Davenport, IA. She was a member of Sigma Phi Chi Sorority and worked for Indiana Bell in Vincennes. Mary was very proud of the fact she had obtained her real estate license and worked for Century 21 in Robinson, IL.Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Wilkey and her husband Carl of Decatur, IL, Jeanne Henderson and her husband David of Morris, IL; brother, John Organ of Vincennes, step-brother, Larry Lockhart and his wife Claudia of Vincennes; half-sister, Kathy Denny; grandchildren, Brooke Patel and her husband James, Lindsey Rotz and her husband B.J., Katie Wade and her husband Eric and Michael Henderson; great grandchildren, Addison and Ripken Rotz. Also surviving are her nieces and nephews, Scott Organ, Mike Organ, Diane Goldsboro, Janet Buescher, Cindy Morris, Pam Anderson, Kim Snapp and Brian Organ. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother, Jess Organ and half-sister, Shirley Deem.Friends may visit with Mary's family from 9:30 until 10:30 am on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. Mary's funeral service will be held at 10:30 on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Donald Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
