Mary Geisweit

Mary Elizabeth Geisweit, age 90, of Vincennes, IN passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital at 11:09 A.M. Sunday April 7, 2013.She was born in Daviess Co. Indiana on Sept. 30, 1922 to Harry and Chloe Tillie (Ellis) Fyffe.She married James Leroy Geisweit of Lester Pennsylvania on Mach 17, 1946. Together they operated Vincennes Aluminum Window and Door Sales on Locust St. until his death in 1999. Mary was a cook at Clark Jr. H.S., and until her retirement in 1986 she was kitchen manager at Washington Elementary School. She was a graduate of Plainville H.S. and attended Purdue University. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Carol Ann Geisweit in 1993, brother Donald Fyffe and his wife Modene of Washington IN, and brother David Fyffe and his wife Opal of Alpharetta Georgia. She is survived by her son James Robert Geisweit and his wife Sandra of Vincennes, and a step- grandson Chad Matthew Schaefer of Vincennes, and several nieces and nephews and their children. Mary was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church. She served as a 4-H Leader while her children were in school. She enjoyed making crafts, especially making Afghans , Plastic Canvas Needlework, and growing tomato plants in containers. Graveside Services will be held 1: 00 pm at Memorial Park Cemetery on Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Larry Howerton will officiate; Goodwin Funeral Home is in charge of service.
