Mary Hardin passed away peacefully July 3, 2022. She was born October 21, 1933 to Perry and Emelia Smith of Oaktown, Indiana. She was one of six children. Mary Ann graduated from Freelandville High School in 1951 and attended Vincennes University. Mary Ann married Jerome Snapp (now deceased) in June of 1952 and together they had four children. In 1988, she married Gene Hardin and they became a blended family. Mary Ann was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her life of service to her family and church was a testimony for her love of family and to Jesus her Lord and Savior. Mary Ann was a member of the First Church of God in Vincennes for almost 50 years and the Gideon Auxillary. She worked at Jay Patch clothing store, Pink Ladies at Good Samaritan Hospital, and was a classroom assistant at Vincennes School Corporation for 16 years. Mary Ann was devoted to her church and was involved in Benevolence Committee, WCG women's group, Loaves and Fishes, Choir, and taught many bible studies. Her love for her children had her involved in Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and PTO's. She loved doing for others and her family. Sewing and cooking were her favorite pastimes. You were lucky if you were given one of her coffee cakes at Christmas. Mary Ann enjoyed life, like relating funny little stories with people and laughing with them, and trying to think positive in all situations. Gene and Mary Ann enjoyed taking walks around the city, going out to eat, playing cards, and traveling with friends. They also loved attending events of their grandchildren. Survivors include her husband Gene Hardin; her children, Debra (Mike) Lockhart, Kent (Kim) Snapp, Julie (Mark) Blagrave, and Dr. Jason (Natalie) Snapp; Her stepchildren, Natalie (Mark) Vogler, Lana (Brent) Claycomb, Melissa (David) Overton, and Kurt (Elizabeth) Hardin; her grandchildren, Jessica (Todd) Vaughn, Hilary Smith, Andrea (Shaun) Gress, Ashley (Greg) Stambaugh, Trent (Samantha) Lockhart, Ashtin (Daniel) Midgett, Taylor Blagrave, Garrett Blagrave, Sarah Snapp, Samuel Snapp, and Spencer Snapp; her step-garandchildren, Jessica (Kevin) Kruckeberg, Justin (Bekah) Vogler, Nathan (Margaret) Vogler, Clint (Leah) Richter, Kari (Joe) Bedwell, Dr. Cole (Allyson) Claycomb, Chris (Jacqueline) Overton, Wesley Overton, Brendon (Sarah) Hardin, Sabastien Hardin, Torrence Hardin, and Greer Hardin; several nieces and nephews; 12 great grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents Perry and Emelia Smith; sisters, Ethel Meier, Edith Baker, and Helen Finke; brothers, Roscoe Smith and Richard Smith. Visitation will be held at Goodwin- Sievers Funeral Home Friday, July 8, 2022 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 am at the First Church of God. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the First Church of God or Parkinson's Foundation.
