Mary Lee Hayden

Mary Lee Hayden, 89, of 5780 East State Road 61, Verne, passed away at 11:00 pm January 29, 2015 at Gentle Care.She was born May 7, 1925 in Knox County to Roscoe Claude and Anna (Hess) Westfall. Mary and her husband Delbert owned and operated the Verne Store for many years. She was a member of the Washington Westminster Church, the Eastern Star, and the Harrison Homemakers. Mary Lee was also a member of the Indiana Presbyterian Church where she had served as deacon and was involved in many church activities.Surviving are her children; D.R. (Linda) of Elgin, SC, Mike (Brenda) Hayden of Verne, Kent Hayden of Otwell, and Joyce (Darrell) Highsmith of Verne; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delbert Hayden; two brothers, Bennie Westfall and Jim Westfall; and two sisters, Nellie Snyder and Margie Vories.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday February 2, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Cheryl Thorne officiating. Burial will follow in the Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon until the service time Monday.
