Mary Nowling

Mary Virginia Nowling, 79, of Washington, Indiana, passed away on January 20, 2022, at her residence. She was born on March 11, 1942, to the late John Veach and Ruby Rice Veach in Vienna, Illinois. Mary was a 1960 graduate of Vienna High School in Vienna, Illinois. After high school, she married the late Mr. Ed Nowling. She worked as a cake decorator at Jay C Food store for twenty-seven years before retiring. In her free time, she enjoyed crocheting and quilting, and she was talented at both. Surviving Mary is her brothers, Lloyd Veach (Terri) and John Veach (Mary Lee), her sisters, Jonna Veach, and Betty Jane Caraker (Delbert), her niece, Amy Davis (John), her stepdaughter, Rita Dyer, several step - grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ed, her parents John and Ruby, her stepson Roger "Rojo" Nowling, and her brothers Nathan and Carl Veach. A visitation for Mary will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St. Washington, Indiana 47501 from 1:00 - 2:00pm. A funeral service will follow immediately at 2:00pm. Burial will take place at the Plainville Cemetery in Plainville, Indiana. Online condolences may be shared with the family at goodwinsievers.com.
