Kay Steckler, 88, passed away on June 12, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Bridgepointe Health Campus. Kay was born on April 24, 1925 in Vincennes, the daughter of Clarence and Agnes (Miller) Hoffman. She married Max Steckler on November 28, 1946 and he survives. Kay was a graduate of St. Rose Academy. She was a homemaker and helped her husband Max on the family farm and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxilary. She was a loving, devoted and faithful wife to her husband, Max, for sixty-six years of marriage. Kay was a caring mother of four daughters, ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was a good Christian woman, a housewife, a quilter and a very good euchre player, who loved her family dearly. Survivors include her husband Max Steckler; daughters, Mary Ellen Ward and her husband Jim; Susanne Miller and her husband Jake; Maxine DiPietro and her husband Jon; Jane Schmitz; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; Sister, Amelia Mouzin and her husband Paul; and a brother Robert Hoffman and his wife Helen. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Old Cathedral Catholic Church with Rev. John Schipp and Deacon Earl Rupel celebrating. Burial will follow at a later date. Friends may visit with Mary's family on Sunday from 4-6 pm at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway.
