Mary Wyant

Mary Sue Wyant, 82, of Monroe City went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2015 at 9:45 am at Gentle Care Nursing Home.She was born May 5, 1932 to William Andrew and Mary (Mikiska) Martindale.Sue worked at the Knox Orchard and Nursery. Sue also had worked in the Knox County Clerk's office and later at the Good Samaritan Mental Health Center.Sue graduated from Fritchton High School where she was proud to be an Eagle. She faithfully attended the First Church of God in Monroe City and was active as a volunteer in various organizations for as long as her health permitted.Surviving is her husband of 35 years, Bruce Wyant of Monroe City; a daughter, Sharon Ellis of Vincennes; two stepsons, Jim Wyant and his wife Dana of Vincennes, and Mark Wyant and his wife Patricia of Zionsville; a sister, Karla Kerns of Raleigh, North Carolina; and a brother, Lee Martindale of Bradenton, Florida. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Shawn Ellis, Rachel Hayden, Eric Wyant, Guy Wyant, Skylar Wyant, and Kristen Wyant; and four great grandchildren, Noah Hayden, Alli Hayden, Kaylee Wyant, and Layla Wyant.She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Carolyn Hostetler; a half sister, Maxine, "Mickey" Grouse; half brothers, Lowell Martindale, Leland Martindale, and Carl Martindale.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, February 20, 2015 at the First Church of God in Monroe City with Rev. Mark Nielson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamline Chapel in Monroe City. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 pm Thursday at Goodwin Funeral Home and from 9:30 am until the service time Friday at the cxhurch.
