Maudie McRoberts, 87, passed away at 11:35 am on February 23, 2020 at the Villages at Oak Ridge. Maudie was born on October 13, 1932 in Martin County the daughter of Floyd and Helen (Lents) Jones. She married Burl Gordon McRoberts April 26, 1951 and they were married for sixty- eight years. Burl preceded her in death on December 8, 2019.Maudie worked at RCA and after retiring, enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to work outside in her garden and flower beds and going each week to her SOS Club. She also loved cooking and baking.Maudie is survived by her children, Gordon McRoberts and his wife Patricia of St. Charles, MO, Debra Kavanaugh and her husband Roger of Versailles, IN, Jane Smith and her husband Glenn of Cross Plains, IN, Patricia Gingerich and her husband Jacob of Montgomery, IN, Barbara Hinkle and her husband Larry of Washington, IN; sisters, Barbara Allen of Sullivan, IN, Lois Hart of Montgomery, IN; brother, Lee Jones of Homestead, FL; sister-in-law's, Ligaya Jones of California, Doris Inman of Bloomfiield, IN; brother-in-law, Darrell Hasler of Odon, IN; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Maudie is preceded in death by her Husband Burl McRoberts, her parents, a grandchild, Greta Wilz, brother, Orum Jones, brother-in-law's, Robert Hart, Elmer Allen and sister-in-law, Ann Jones.Friends may visit with Maudie's family and friends from 4-7 pm on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN. Maudie's funeral service will begin at 10:30 am on February 27, 2020 at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Stephen McRoberts officiating. Maudie will be laid to rest in Sugarland Memory Gardens next to her husband Burl. Memorial contributions may be made to The National Alzheimer's Association.
