Melvin Miller

Ray "Doc" Miller, 84, of Vincennes, passed away Dec. 24, 2014, at Willow Manor. Ray had worked as a technician for the Indiana National Guard for 34 years. He was a member of the 38th Infantry Division Association, the American Legion, the Fraternal Order of Police, the National Guard Associations of Indiana and the United States, Travelers Protective Association, a charter member of the Wabash Cannonball Camping Association; the National Campers and Hikers Association, Lawrenceville Rod and Gun Club, and was a past member of the Washington Boat Club. Born Sept. 4, 1930, in Crawford County, IL, he was the son of Lloyd and Anna Mae (Midgett) Miller. Ray was raised by his aunt and uncle, William and Alma Osborne. They all preceded him. Surviving is his wife, Carol (Bailey) Miller, whom he married May 23, 1953; his daughters, Linda Frisz, and her husband, John Frisz, Jr. and Cheryl Barrett, and her husband, Jeff Barrett, all of Vincennes; a half-brother, Jerry Pritchard of Palestine, IL; grandchildren, Jason Frisz, and his wife, Christina, of Loogootee, IN, and Cody Crawford, of Ohio; and several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted on Monday, at 9:30 EDT, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, from 2:00 - 6:00, at the funeral home.
