Merlin "Mutt" Robinson, 84, of Vincennes, passed away February 28, 2015, at the New Willow Manor. He was the manager of the Vincennes Paper Mill. After it closed, he worked at America Paper Products in Pennsylvania, and then moved back to Vincennes. He served on the USS New Jersey while in the navy. Mutt was a member of the Bethlehem General Baptist Church, the American Legion, and the VFW. He enjoyed camping and fishing. On December 27, 1951, he married Verda (Roach) Robinson. She survives, along with their children, Susan Robinson of Vincennes, Tamir Hodges and her husband, Russell, of Russellville, IL, Cynthia Robinson of Vincennes, Joni Blackburn and her husband, Dave, of Vincennes, Keith Robinson and his wife, Vicki, of Vincennes, and Cary Joe Robinson and his companion, Cherie Pilarowski, of Vincennes; grandchildren, Lori Thomas, Danica (Rob) Eyler, Luke Blackburn, Israel Robinson, Timmie Hodges, Annabelle Hodges, Robert Hodges, Erica Hodges, and Isaiah Decker; and several great-grandchildren. Mutt was born September 22, 1930, in Monroe City, IN, the son of Hiram and Carrie (Coontz) Robinson. They preceded him, as well as his brothers and sisters, William Robinson, Mary Phillippee, Amy Church, Christine Mattingly, Nelda Hoaglin, and Garrett Robinson; and his grandson, Brian Hodges. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, from 5:00 - 8:00, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. The funeral will be conducted by Pastor Pete White, on Wednesday, at 10:30, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion / VFW Firing Squad.
