Michael Hartzburg

Michael Forrest Hartzburg Jr. passed away Friday May 27, 2022. Michael was born June 24, 1976, and he was the son of Michael Hartzburg Sr. and Rita (Goff) Smith. Michael had worked at Sav-A-Lot for many years before taking his new job at Vincennes University. Michael was an avid collector of anything Batman. He had collected Batman memorabilia ever since he was a little boy. He was especially proud of his Batman costume. If you walked in his house, you may feel like you have entered the "Batcave". He loved comic books and had every issue of the Batman series. He enjoyed being outdoors. He also had fun rooting on his favorite teams including the Boston Celtics, Chicago Cubs, and Dallas Cowboys play. He loved and cherished his family especially his nephews Brenden and Conner Hartzburg. Michael is survived by his parents Michael Hartzburg and his wife Teresa, his mother Rita Smith and his step father, Todd Smith; brothers Jerrod Hartzburg and Cory Hartzburg; step sisters, Grace Mulkey and Stephanie Cates (Dylan); step brother, Sam Robarge (Jennifer); nieces and nephews, Brenden Hartzburg, Conner Hartzburg, Zachary Mulkey, Lily Mulkey, Daisy Mulkey, Madison Mulkey, Gabriel Robarge, Nevaeh Robarge, Kingston Hardig, and Aurora Robarge. Michael was preceded in death by his brother Tyson Hartzburg, paternal grandparents, Dexter and Rita Hartzburg and Margaret Hartzburg; maternal grandparents, Harold and Jeri Goff and Midge Ikemire. Visitation will be Friday June 3, 2022, from 2:00 pm- 3:00pm at Memorial Park Cemetery with the funeral service starting at 3:00. Pastor Matt Hoffman will be officiating. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Michael.
