Michael Brent Wittmer, 70, of Washington, IN, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 9:58pm at Memorial Hospital in Jasper, IN.

He was born on May 9, 1954, to Amos & Lily Mae (Graber) Wittmer in Washington, IN.

On October 20, 1984, Brent married the love of his life, Christina (Allen) Wittmer, and they shared over forty years of marriage. Together, they had five children: Jon, Kate, Jared, Amy, and Anna.

Brent worked various jobs throughout his life from construction to fertilizing, and building trusses for DC Metal. He was a proud member of Providence Mennonite Church in Montgomery. In his free time, Brent enjoyed watching nature shows, rodeos, and sports on television. He was a big St. Louis Cardinals, and IU Men’s Basketball fan. He loved to fish and ride his bike. He was an avid Johnny Cash fan, and loved singing and listening to music. Brent also enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survivors of Brent include his wife, Christina Wittmer of Washington, IN; his children, Jon Wittmer of Sarasota, FL, Kate Heinz and her husband Craig of Vincennes, IN, Jared Wittmer and his wife Yesenia of Washington, IN, Amy O’Neill and her husband Charles of Otwell, IN, and Anna Allen and her husband Austin of Cannelburg, IN; his grandchildren, Adlee Heinz, Barrett Heinz, Noah Wittmer, and Matilda O’Neill; his mother, Lily Mae Wittmer; his siblings, Coleen Swartzentruber and her husband Ed of Washington, IN, Janell Graber and her husband Bob of Cannelburg, IN, Carmen Yoder and her husband Mark of Montgomery, IN, and Merlin Wittmer and his wife Beth of Sarasota, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Amos, and his brother, Nelson Wittmer.

Visitation for Brent will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 4:00-8:00pm ET at Providence Mennonite Church 4738 US-50, Montgomery, IN 47558. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 11:00am with Pastor Kevin Swartzentruber officiating. Friends and family may visit from 10:30am until the time of the service, also at the church. Interment will follow in the Providence Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Barr-Reeve Boy’s Baseball Program. Donation envelopes will be provided.
