Mike Son

Michael G. "Shine" Son, 69, passed away on June 27, 2022, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Mike was born on September 10, 1952, in Madsionville, KY and moved to Vincennes in 1968. He was the son of Penny and Carolyn (Dorris) Son. Mike was a 1970 graduate of Vincennes Lincoln High School and served his country honorably for four years in the United States Air Force. Mike loved golf and was a huge Kentucky Wildcat fan! He also was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Cincinnati Reds. Most importantly though, Mike lived for watching his grandchildren in their sporting activities. Survivors include his daughters, Tammy George and her husband Rob of Vincennes, Abbe Steffey and her husband Chris of Vincennes; brother, Mark Son and his wife Dale Ann of Vincennes; sister, Becky Son of Owensboro, KY; grandchildren, Levi Moore and his girlfriend Kindall, Zachary Steffey, Ava Steffey, Macee Braun and her husband Josh, Madison Heiden and her fiancee Jackson Niehaus, Mallory Heiden; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Tessa, Remi, Noah, Kaisley; niece's Mandi Son, Jennifer Spann and her husband Evan; nephew's, Philip Chanley and his fiance Erika, Michael Son and his wife Meighan and Matthew son and his wife Lauren. Mike also has three special friends that he made many special memories with, Fad Mills, Jim Menke, and Gary Brock. The Son family would like to thank Rusty Thorne for all of the special care he provided to Mike. Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Penny and Carolyn Son. Mike's wishes were to be cremated and the family will celebrate his life from 2-5 pm on July 10, 2022, at Kelso's 19th Hole, 2715 Washington Avenue, Vincennes, IN.
