Mildred Huffer-Buescher

Mildred "Millie" M. Huffer-Buescher, 100, formerly of Vincennes, passed away September 5, 2017, at the Ridgeview Care Center in Oblong, IL. She was raised in Freelandville, IN.Millie taught fourth grade in Freelandville, IN. She also helped her husband Royce Huffer in his upholstery business. When her children reached school age she did substitute teaching. Millie was a member of the Bethel Church in Freelandville, and later St. John's United Church of Christ in Vincennes. She was skilled in needle work, and had volunteered as a Pink Lady at Good Samaritan Hospital.Born February 16, 1917 in Bicknell, IN, she was the daughter of William and Louise (Niedringhaus) Bohmeier. Her parents; her first husband, Royce Huffer; her second husband, Arnold Buescher; and her brothers, Ralph and Richard Bohmeier preceded her.Surviving are her children, Marcia Bauman of Ft. Wayne, IN, Kaye Holscher and her husband, David, of Robinson, IL, Jana Longfellow and her husband, Terry, of St. Mary's, GA, and Royce Huffer Jr. and his wife, Gayle, of Vincennes; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Bohmeier, of Vincennes, IN; 13 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and Arnold Buescher's family - Bob Buescher, Arlene Wilson, Ron Buescher, Janice Adamson, and Dan Buescher .Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 - 12:00 (EDT) on Saturday, at the Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 (EDT) at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ or the charity of the donor's choice.
