Milton Wallace Harding, 86, 3 Aaron Lane, Vincennes, passed away at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at his residence. He was born December 10, 1924, in Newark, NJ.Milton had been a pilot for Vincennes Steel for thirty-five years and later for Dekata in Pontiac, MI. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Quiet Birdman, American Legion and Moose. He was the Volunteer Coordinator at the Indiana Military Museum.He served his country in the United States Army during World War II as a paratrooper, for the 17th Airborne Division, in the Battle of the Bulge.Survivors include his wife, Lela (Sanders) Harding of Vincennes; children, Richard Harding and his wife, Kate, of Indianapolis and Patrick Harding and his wife, Sherry, of Vincennes; step-daughters, Gail Hayden and her husband, Clyde, of Vincennes and Sue Taylor of Vincennes; sisters, Vimy Eagle of AZ and Mary Ann Syurk of MI; brother, Jack Harding of FL; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.Preceding Milton in death were his parents and sons, Milton Harding, Jr. and John Harding.Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service time.
