Myrna E. (Hart) Brown, 81, formerly of Fox Ridge Assisted Living, passed away March 30, 2018, at Gentle Care Nursing Home.Myrna lived her life to help others. She was the founder and former director of Harbor House. A longtime and active member of the Democratic party, she served as an elector in the Electoral College in the 2008 US Presidential campaign. Myrna was a founding member of the Louisville Police Department Women's Auxilla ry. A past-president of the Vincennes Rotary Club, she was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the ABWA. She was named a Kentucky Colonel, a Sagamore of the Wabash, and received the Spirit of 76 Award.Myrna was a 1954 graduate of Fritchton High School. She also graduated from X-Ray Training in Louisville, KY.Born April 7, 1936, in Vincennes, she was the daughter of Earl E. and Mildred (Rooney) Hart. Her parents; her husband, Gordon E. Brown; and a daughter, Shannon, preceded her.Surviving are her children, Cindy Ravellette and her husband, Brian, of Vincennes, and Scott Brown and his wife, Janis, of Vincennes; her brothers, Terry Hart of Vincennes, and Gene Hart of Ridgecrest, CA: a step-brother, David Vaughn of Wyoming; her grandchildren, Eric Ravellette and his wife, Jeannine, Jennifer Ravellette-Brooks and her husband, Jeff, and a step-grandson, Joshua Finatri and his wife, Brandy; seven great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, at 2:00, at the First Baptist Church. Friends may visit with her family from 12 - 2 on Tuesday, at the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
