Nora Carey

Nora Agnes (Armstrong) Carey, 84, of Vincennes, went back to the Lord on April 23, 2019.She was born February 1, 1935 in Vincennes, Indiana to Marvin and Zelma (Fox) Armstrong.Nora retired from the Freelandville Nursing Center as the Head Cook and spent many years in Hotel Supervision in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was a member of the St. John Episcopal Church in Washington and loved to read, cook, enjoyed her pets, and thrift stores.Surviving are her daughter, Melana Cunningham and her husband Michael of Loogootee, Indiana; three half-brothers, Marvin, Darwin, and Brian Armstrong; three grandsons, Robert, Jason, and JR Shoulders of Lawrence County; along with three great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Darwin Carey; a son, Dennis Carey; her father, Marvin Armstrong; her mother, Zelma (Fox) Decker; and her brother William "Bill" Armstrong.In lieu of any formal services or flowers, it was Nora's wishes and would make her smile, if donations were made to the Vincennes Pet Port, for the love of her many pets.
