Norma Jean Hobson, 86, passed away Dec. 15, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital. She had worked as a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital. A member of St. John's United Church of Christ, she was also a member of the Christian Women's Club and the American Legion Auxillary. Born January 19, 1928 in Widner Township, Knox County, IN, she was the daughter of Julius and Bessie (Clinkenbeard) Heithecker. Her parents; her husband, Harold D. Hobson, whom she married May 7, 1950, and who passed away Jan. 29, 1994; her brothers, Paul and Wayne Heithecker; and her sisters, Ruth and Helen Phillippe, Opal Carron, Mildred DeGraff, and Patricia Emmel preceded her. Surviving are her sons, Rick Hobson, and his wife, Angie, of St. Anthony, IN, Ron Hobson, and his wife, Paula, of Greenwood, IN, Rodger Hobson, of Vincennes, and Randy Hobson, and his wife, Chandra, of Evansville, IN; a brother, Jack Heithecker of Vincennes; her grandchildren, Tricia Cole, Lucas Hobson, Brady Hobson, Joel Hobson, Matthew Hobson, Lauren Hobson, Coy Hobson, Quinn Hobson, and Emerson Hobson; and five great-grandchildren. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 8:00 on Wednesday, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, by Rev. Dr. Kate Lambertson, at 2:00, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 606 N. 5th St. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospital Hospice.
