O. Francis Meyer, of 3599 S. Hart St. Road, Vincennes, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Feb. 1. Fancis had worked at Farm Bureau Co-op and for Opekasit Farm Management. He was a life-long member of the Indiana Presbyterian Church, having served as an elder & trustee, and had also taught the CIC class. He was proud to be a member of the 1939 Monroe City High School graduating class. During WWII, he served in the Army Air Corps. Born Aug. 16, 1921 in Knox County, IN, he was the son of Oscar Casper Carl & Bessie Aline (Barekman) Meyer. His parents preceded him. Surviving is his wife, Lela (Campbell) Meyer; children John Meyer of Orlando, FL, Barbara (Dan) Hoops, Nancy (Bob) Palmer, both of Vincennes, and Lee (Debbie) Meyer of Odon, IN; a brother, J.C. Meyer of Ft. Wayne, IN; grandchildren Audra Shumate, Heidi Oehler, Ryan Meyer, Erin Poynter, Andrew Palmer, Katie Meyer, & Gracie Meyer; and 7 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Indiana Presbyterian Church (Highway 61), at 10:30 am, with Rev. Cheryl Thorne officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. Interment will take place in the Wildwood Cemetery.
