Opal Lueking

August 6, 1915 — June 13, 2014

Opal Pauline Rodarmel Lueking, 98, daughter of the late James M. Rodarmel and Nel L. Reel Rodarmel, passed away at Villages of Avon in Danville, Indiana, surrounded by her family members. Pauline was born on August 6, 1915, in Fritchton (Palmyra Township), Indiana. She graduated from Fritchton High School and completed her nurse training at Vincennes University and Good Samaritan Hospital. She was a practicing nurse in Indiana for 55 years. Pauline was a member of the Ida Rebekah Lodge in Tell City, Indiana. She was also a member of the United Church of Christ in Westphalia, Tell City, and Vincennes. Pauline is also survived by a son, David L. Lueking, (married to Janis Griffith Lueking) of Austin, IN; a sister, Frances Jean Anson of Verne, IN; a brother Baxter Rodarmel of Champagne, IL; four grandchildren: Chad Waddell (married to Kristi McGuyre Waddell) of Danville, IN; Mike Waddell of Indianapolis, IN; Mark Lueking (married to Kristen Caudill Lueking) of Kansas City, KS; and Mandy Nowlin of Nashville, TN. and was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren. Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, James Arthur Lueking, sister Jeannette Hollander, brothers Kenneth and Kledith Rodarmel, a daughter Barbara Kay (Lueking) Waddell, and son-in-law Roy Donald Waddell. Memorial services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway Street, Vincennes, IN. 47591 with Rev. Kay Anson officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be sent to the Danville Christian Church, 180 W. Main Street, Danville, IN. 46122.
