Patricia Carter

Patricia A. Carter, 77, of Monroe City, passed away at 11:42 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 in Good Samaritan Hospital. Born April 30, 1934, in her parent's home in Monroe City, she was the daughter of Max Donald Welton and Anna Mae (Myers) Osmon.Patricia was a 1952 graduate of Monroe City High School and graduated from Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She had worked at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dr. Like's office and retired from the office of Dr. William "Tom" Thompson. She was a member of Hamlin Chapel, enjoyed quilting and was an avid shopper with her daughters.She is survived by four daughters, Pam (Dave) Peters , Kim Lanning, Karla (Dave) Davis and Kalisa (Todd) Hoops all of Monroe City; eight grandchildren, Brittany Peters, Zachary Peters, Ashley Lanning, Audrey Lanning, Austin Hoops, Abby Hoops, Alton Hoops and Matthew Davis; and great grandchildren, Carter McCrary and Kaiden McCrary.Preceding Patricia in death were her parents; husband, Austin Mack Carter and son in law, Chrispin Lanning.Funeral services will be held Monday, January 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. Burial will follow in Hamlin Chapel Cemetery.
