Patty Sanders

Patty E. Sanders, 89, of Vincennes, went home to be with the Lord on January 30, 2018, at Willow Manor.Patty had worked 18 years as a teacher's aide at Head Start in Vincennes. She then moved to Nashville, TN, where she was a clerk at the Opryland Hotel Country Christmas Gift Shop, and after 15 years in Nashville, she moved back to Vincennes. Patty loved to do crafts, work on puzzles, spend time gardening, and play cards with her sister, Lottie. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church.Born February 15, 1928, in Decker, IN, she was the daughter of Ellis and Bonnie (Claycomb) Purcell. Her parents; her daughter, Vicki Sanders; her son, Tami Sanders; and her brothers, Ray, Julius, and Dick Purcell preceded her.Surviving are her children, James "Jay" Sanders and his wife, Pam, of Claremont, FL, Penny Hawkins and her husband, Roger, of Vincennes, Marlene East and her husband, Tom, of Sumner, IL, Jan Knox and her companion, Eddie Carson, of Vincennes, IN, and Melody Davis and her husband, Chuck, of Vincennes; a sister, Lottie Lange of Vincennes, IN; her grandchildren, Cheryl Sanders, Lori Quinett, Johnny Bottoms, Mike Bottoms, Aaron Sanders, Eric Burke, Toni Strange, Marty Burke, Rockie Burke, Brian McCrary, Kelly Fields, Misty Thompson, Gage Decker, Chasity Davis, Jeremy Davis, and Jessica Davis; 43 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.Friends may visit with Patty's family from 12:00 - 2:00 on Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home.
