Paul Ledford

Paul B. Ledford, 85, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023. Paul was born on June 29, 1937 in Corydon, Indiana and is the son of Elmer and Charlotte (Straub) Ledford. He married Rebecca (Hawes) Ledford in 1987. Paul started practicing law in Vincennes, Indiana in 1963 with the firm of Hart, Ledford & Bell and continued to serve with various other firms for over 50 years, retiring in 2013. The family would like to thank the many clients who honored him with their trust. His professional abilities, particularly in trial law, were outstanding. Paul served as City Attorney while under the direction of Mayor Rose. He was affiliated with numerous organizations including, The Knox County Bar Association, Indiana Trial Lawyers, Law Review (past and present), Elks (past Exalter Ruler), Old Cathedral, Harmony Society, K of C, and the Food Pantry (past and present). Surviving Paul is his wife, Rebecca Ledford; children, Leanne Sievers and her husband Joel, Tony Ledford and his wife Sandy, Madonna Ledford and Mike Macku, Terry Webb and Scott Blackburn, Julie Sweeney and her husband Troy, and Gretchen Keller; sisters, Frances Gettelfinger, Marabeth Thomas, and Margaret Ledford; first wife Gordia Scott; grandchildren, Matthew Sievers (Erin), Will Sievers, Chris Borges (Mark), Paula Ledford, Daniel Baltz, Johnathan Baltz, Elliott Hudson, Aubrey Hudson, Brynna Sweeney, Christopher Macku (Kristy), Diana Cheek (Keith), and Kevin Macku; great grandchildren, William Sievers, Addyson Borges, Jordyn Borges, Eric Smith, McKinze Ledford, Hayley Martin, Kamryn Cheek, Aidan Cheek, Violet Macku, and Isabelle Macku. Paul is preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Charlotte. In the last few years, Paul's health proved to be a "trial" but he never backed down from a fight and never lost his faith in God during these struggles. The family would like to acknowledge the many doctors who contributed to Paul's quality of life. Visitation for Paul will be on Friday, February 17, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. His funeral service will begin at the conclusion of visitation at 2:00 pm. Father Tony Ernst and Pastor John Mooreland will be officiating. Internment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Paul had a heart for children and In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Jude's or the charity of your choice.
