Paul C. Ruppel, 80, of Vincennes, passed away at 7:20 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2014 at the New Willow Manor.He was born June 13, 1933 in St. Francisville, Illinois to Clarence and Bernice (Horsting) Ruppel.Paul farmed his entire lifeand had also worked at Red's Country Store, Valley Electric, and Hutton Elevator. A life-long member of the St. Thomas Catholic Church, Paul and his wife taught second grade religion class for many years. He belonged to the Farm Bureau Coop and the Knights of Columbus. He served 21 years in the National Guard, retiring as a First Sergeant and enjoyed working with animals and his grandchildren.Those surviving to honor him are his children; Deborah (Bob) Hall , Michael (Paula) Ruppel , and Joseph L. (Janet) Ruppel all of Vincennes; his brothers and sisters, Marjorie Halter of Vincennes, Betty Hesher of Lawrenceville, Rita (Charlie) Doll of Vincennes, Janet (Robert) Hess of Vincennes, Virginia (Steve) Donaldson of Vincennes, and Linda Ruppel of Crawfordsville; his 5 grandchildren, Laura Hall, Chris Hall, Matt Ruppel, Eric Ruppel, and Katie Anderson; and his two great grandchildren, Nick and Zach Hall.He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ellen Louise (Doll) Ruppel; and two brothers, Buddy and Bobby Ruppel.A Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated at 11:00 Tuesday , at St Thomas Catholic Church, by Rev.John Schipp and Deacon Earl Ruppel. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 Monday at Goodwin Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.goodwinfamilyfh.com .
