Paul Shepherd

Paul Shepherd Jr. 88, of 415 Barnett Street, passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2012 at his residence. Paul was born on August 8, 1924 in Sullivan County, Indiana the son of Paul M. and Ruth Marie (Black) Shepherd. He married Eva Wolfe on August 19, 1944 and she preceded him in death on November 2, 1995. He then married Thelma Stiles in 1997 and she preceded him in death in 2010. Paul was a graduate of Oaktown High School and served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from Texas Gas as a Division Technician. He was a member of First Christian Church in Petersburg, the American Legion and the Petersburg Masonic Lodge. Paul always had a project going. Survivors include his daughter, Karen L. Fisk of Benton, Ky; son, Michael Shepherd and his wife Pam of Vincennes, sister, Betty Stevens of Mesa, Az; brother, Jerry Shepherd of Oaktown; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Preceding Paul in death was a son, Harold W. Shepherd, brothers, Robert and James Shepherd and a son-in-law, Sammy Fisk. Funeral services for Paul will be held on Monday September 3, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home, 505 Main St with the Rev. Ray Tromley officiating.
