Paul Wissel

Paul Wissel, 88, formerly of Vincennes, passed away Aug. 8, 2013 at his home in Ft. Wayne, IN.Paul was retired from Prestolite Battery Factory in 1983, and then had worked at Valley Distributing. A former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, he attended Queen of Angels Catholic Church after moving to Ft. Wayne, IN. A WWII Navy veteran, Paul was a member of the VFW and American Legion.Born December 27, 1924 in Homer, IL, he was the son of Raymond and Edith (Alles) Wissel. They preceded him, as well as his wife, Donna (Mayes) Wissel , whom he wed Oct. 4, 1947; a daughter, Beth Weber; and two brothers, Raymond Wissel, Jr. and Bob Wissel.Surviving is his son, David Wissel, and his life partner, Michael Wing, of Ft. Wayne, IN; brothers, John Wissel of Indianapolis, IN, and Joe Wissel of Daleville, AL; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Becky Riester of Ft. Wayne, IN.The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 3:00 - 7:00, at Goodwin Funeral Home. A public rosary will be said at 2:45 Sunday. Monday morning at 10:00, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. David Martin, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt.
