Pauline Crawford

Pauline L. (Robinson) Crawford passed away Saturday May 27, 2023 at West River Assisted Living in Evansville, IN. She was born on September 29, 1931 the daughter of James Walter and Fannie Gertrude (Racine) Robinson. Pauline grew up out in the oil fields in Griffin, IN. She was proud of being from Griffin. She graduated from Griffin High School in 1950 where she had been a cheerleader, cheering on the Griffin Tornadoes.\n\nShe married Kenny Dike to which they had three children Melody, Randy and Jill. At that time, they were melon farmers and grew other produce in the Sands. Pauline often mentioned how the green bean crop was not a favorite of hers. Later her and the children would move to Princeton living there for several years. She went to West Side Beauty College and became a cosmetologist in hair design. Also, she had worked at the Holiday Inn in Vincennes as a waitress. The family moved to Vincennes in 1969. She then would marry Robert D. (Bob) Crawford in 1971. They would later move back to Owensville where she owned and operated Hairitage Beauty Salon. She continued to do hair before retiring to travel and enjoy seeing many other countries with her lady friends. \n \nWe would have to say she was most proud to be Granny and later GiGi! Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren lit up her world.\n \nShe was preceded by her parents, husband, daughter, Melody Prior; Bobs son Brett Crawford; siblings, Glenn, Bill, Barbara and Lorene Robinson, Virginia Fetcher, Betty East and Vernita East.Pauline is survived by her son, Randy his wife Barb Dike; daughter, Jill and her husband Jeff Roudebush; 6 grandchildren, Keith (Pleasant) Dike, Rebecca (Blaine) Hartzler, Tyler (Brittney) Wallace, Whitney (Aaron) Jackson, Kathy (Robert) McNerney, John (Erin) Prior; 17 Great-grandchildren; Bobs children, Jane (Mike) Parker and Bobby Crawford; several cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.Same Day Service for Pauline will be Thursday, June 1, 2023. Visitation from 10-2 with funeral at 2pm CST being held at The New Shinnyville Hill Venue located at 4467 West 525 South Owensville, IN 47665 Bob Douglas will officiate. Burial will follow at the Poseyville Cemetery in Poseyville.
