Peggy Deckard, 62, of 855 N. Deckard Road, Wheatland, passed away at 2:45 a.m. Monday December 3, 2012 at her residence.She was born in Vincennes on June 13, 1950 to Donald and Merrydyth (Day) Myers.Peggy worked as a teacher's aide for the South Knox School Corporation for many years. She was an active member of the Walnut Grove United Methodist Church where she served in many capacities. She like to design floral arrangements for cotillions, proms, weddings, and other events and loved watching her grandchildren.Surviving is her husband, Larry Deckard, whom she married April 14, 1973; her parents, Donald and Merrydyth Myers of Monroe City; three sons, Brady (Connie) Deckard of Vincennes, Aaron (Amie) Deckard of Wheatland, and Colby Deckard of Vincennes; two sisters, Penny Bishop of England, Prudy (Bob) Wynn of Oakland, IL; and a brother, Drew (Lori) Myers of Monroe City.Also surviving are her grandchildren, Amelia Deckard, Avery Deckard, Alie Deckard, Alea Deckard, and another one on the way along with many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 10:30 Friday, December, 7 2012 at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Brenda Wick officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Goodwin Funeral Home.
