Phillip Max Fischer, 75, Vincennes, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at his residence. He was born July 13, 1935, in Princeton, IN the son of Raymond H. and Vaunda E. (Tooley) Fischer. He was raised in Oakland City, IN.He was a graduate of Oakland City College and the University of Illinois. He taught school in Jacksonville, IL. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, American Legion, Knights of Columbus, NAMI and MHAI and founder of the Knox County Key Organization. He served his country in the United States Army.Survivors include his sons, Michael Fischer of Oakland City, Max X. Fischer of Cleveland, OH; brothers, Raymond L. (Joyce) Fischer of Haubstadt and John L. Fischer of Vincennes; sister, Cynthia Ross of Vincennes; grandchildren, Haley Ezard and Abby Ezard and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John's companion, Bill R. Loveless.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at St. John Catholic Church, 803 Main St. with Rev. David Fleck as celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Princeton.
