Phyllis Dardeen

Phyllis Dardeen, 79, passed away at 3:26 pm on January 25, 2020 at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. Phyllis was born on September 12, 1940 in Vincennes, Indiana, to Otto and Lucille (Rehwald) Buchhorn. She married Larry Dardeen on August 1, 1970.Phyllis was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Evansville. She taught kindergarten at a Lutheran school for many years. Phyllis also served as a cheerleading coach and a women's Athletic Director at South Knox. Phyllis was very active in her church, was an avid IU and Indianapolis Colts fan, and loved her family and her cats.Phyllis is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, Larry Dardeen of Carmel, IN; sons Lonnie Dardeen and his wife Kelly of Fowler, IN; Lance Dardeen and his wife Sarah of Westfield, IN; two step-sons, Greg and Jeff Dardeen; brother John Buchhorn of Vincennes; grandchildren Casey, Cory, Abigail, Aiden, and Isaac Dardeen; one great-grandchild Malachi Dardeen and two step-grandchildren, Mitchell and Autumn Dardeen. Mitchell's wife is Lindsey and son Moxen, Autumn has three children: Bailey, Mason and Rowan. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents.Friends may visit with Phyllis' family from 11:00 am until the hour of the service time at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN.
