Rubert Wilmus Adams, 80, of Wheatland, IN went to be with the Lord February 9, 2022. He was born in rural Monroe City, IN on June 20, 1941, to the late Rubert and Bessie Adams. Wilmus attended and graduated from Monroe City High School in 1959. He was an electrician with Indianapolis Power and Light Company in Petersburg, IN for 31.5 years. Wilmus married the love of his life Betty (Stafford) Adams on April 5, 1964. Wilmus was a proud member of the Walnut Grove Church and past volunteer for the Lord's Warehouse. He enjoyed many things in life such as watching westerns, being a handyman, making shop lights, watching South Knox Boys basketball and Rivet High School basketball, and attending auctions and flea markets. Wilmus was preceded in death by his parents; brother Curtis Adams; nephew Keith Reel; niece Brett Adams He is survived by his wife, of 57 years, Betty Adams; children Ray (Elizabeth) Adams and Beverly Adams; grandchildren Stephanie, Ryan, Brittany, and Joy; siblings Elizabeth (Tom) Reel, Elaine (Joe) Ochs, Cyrus (Peggy) Adams, Eleanor Pesch; and many nieces and nephews. Goodwin-Sievers is honored and entrusted with the care of Mr. Adams. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 5-8pm EST at Goodwin-Sievers 524 Broadway St. Vincennes, IN 47591. Services will be held Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 2pm EST at Goodwin-Sievers 524 Broadway St. with burial at Walnut Grove Cemetery immediately following. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Blue Jean Center or Walnut Grove Church.
