Ransom Bill "Dip" Mengedoht, 81, of Vincennes, passed away at 10:10 am Monday, December 10, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital.He was born November 21, 1937 in Freelandville, Indiana to Ransom T. and Sarah (Morris) Mengedoht.Ransom had worked as a truck driver for Hamilton Glass and Ford Saw Mill and served his country in the US Army. He was an avid Indiana University basketball fan, St. Louis Cardinal fan, and Chicago Bears fan, and enjoyed playing golf making two holes in one at Bicknell Golf Course.Surviving are his children, Douglas Mengedoht, Cynthia Mengedoht, and Melissa Turner and her husband Stephen, all of Vincennes; a sister, Iris Riggle of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Erica Cox, Drew Wheasley, Jake Porter-Eakle, Abby Mengedoht, and Carl Turner; a great granddaughter, Chloe Cox; and a special companion, Zita Cox.He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Herman Mengedoht, Charles Mengedoht, Audrey Hart, Faye Berry, Roger Mengedoht, and Rose Mengedoht.Services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, December 13, 2018 St. John's Catholic Church with Rev. Donald Ackerman officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 4-8 Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice.
