Ray Cornwell

Raymond Earl (Bub) Cornwell, 82, of Evansville, IN closed his eyes here on earth and opened them in Heaven with the Lord Jesus Christ on February 9, 2024, at 8:25 pm at his home with his loving wife Kathryn and family by his side. Ray was born on December 7, 1941, in Vincennes and he is the son of Lester Bud and Mable Cornwell.

Ray was a man of great faith in God. He believed in the word of God and prayed for a close walk with God. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was a semi-truck driver for many years. He loved traveling and seeing the many sights. Ray loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed the outdoors and wooded areas of nature.

Ray is survived by his loving wife of ten years, Kathryn Cornwell and her children, Elaine, James, and Bethany. He is also survived by his children, Terry Cornwell of Iowa, Belinda Cornwell of Illinois, Tonya Burden and her husband Perry of Indiana, brother, Steve Cornwell of Illinois, sister Eunice Moeller of Illinois, his grandchildren, Jasmyne Helton, Dr. Taylor Burden, Elijah Burden, Amber Stephens, Morgan Smith, great grandchildren, Jayde Crider, Joshua Tyler Helton, Nova Rayne Cornwell, Greyson and Emery Stephens and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Lester "Bud" and Mable Cornwell, sisters, Norma, Devida and Donna, son, Jerry Cornwell, grandsons Erik Tyler Cornwell and Logan Riley Burden and his prior wife of thirty-four years Brenda Collins Cornwell.

Friends may visit with Ray's family on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 11:00 am EST until the hour of service time of 1:00 pm EST at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591.
