It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Tromley, better known as Ray, a beloved member of the Vincennes community, on March 14, 2024. Born on June 22, 1940, in Vincennes, IN, Ray led a life filled with love, faith, and dedication. He is the son of Christopher and Anne (Hunter) Tromley. Ray married Anita Kay Dreiman on May 6, 1960 and she preceded him in death on February 13, 2024.
Ray was a man of deep devotion, both to his country as a proud US Army veteran and to his faith as an active member of the Community Church of Vincennes, where he gave generously of his time and talents in various ministerial capacities. Graduating from Central Catholic High School, Ray later embarked on a career as a self-employed businessman owning and operating the Bible Book Store with his wife Anita Kay leaving a lasting impact in the hearts of all who he encountered.
A man of diverse interests, Ray found joy in golf, lending his voice to various ceremonies, and embracing his musical talents as a member of the renowned musical group, the Coachmen. His melodious voice echoed through countless weddings and funerals, bringing comfort and solace to those in need and he ministered to countless numbers of people in need during trying times.
Survivors include his siblings, Helen Thomas and her husband Morris of Vincennes, Carolyn Schultz and her husband Dave of Indianapolis, IN, Joe Tromley of Vincennes; sister-in-law's, Mary Ann Tromley of Vincennes, Linda Tromley of Champaign, IL, Jan Tromley of Vincennes, Nancy Brack and her husband Wayne of Evansville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews also survive. Ray is preceded in death by his parents, Christopher and Anne Tromley, and his siblings, Margaret Klueh and her husband Paul, Norma Hunkler and her husband Joe, John Tromley, Chris Tromley, George Tromley, Jim Tromley and Paul Tromley.
To honor and celebrate Ray's life, a Funeral Service will be held at the Community Church of Vincennes 1548 S. Hart St. Road, Vincennes, IN 47591 on March 20, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Prior to the service, a Public Viewing will take place on March 19, 2024, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm, at the same location. Ray will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery next to his wife Anita Kay. As we come together to remember Ray and bid him a respectful farewell, let us keep his memory alive in our hearts and minds, cherishing the legacy of love and faith he leaves behind.
