Raymond "Ray" Kieffer, 78, of Vincennes, passed away at 9:15 am Thursday, May 30th, 2019 with his wife at his side.He was born July 11, 1940 in East Mt. Carmel, Indiana to Raymond and Mary (Peters) Kieffer Sr.Ray had served in the Army as a military policeman during the Vietnam Era and was a 3rd Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He had worked at Texas Refinery in Lawrenceville, Illinois until they closed in 1985 and then worked at Indianapolis Power and Light at Petersburg until his retirement in 2001. He loved going to both McDonald's in Vincennes and visiting with his friends ever since his retirement. He was a funny, kind, patient man.Surviving are his wife, Kathy (Carroll) Kieffer whom he married on May 16, 2000; his children, Chris Kieffer and his wife Gina of Vincennes, Kassie Roush of Clearwater, FL, and Stephanie Kieffer of Chiefland, Fl; his grandchildren, Ayla Kieffer, Logan Kieffer, both of Vincennes, Levi Bromm and his wife Myia of Washington; his sisters, Dottie Walters of Lawrenceville, Cecelia Bellesa of Mt. Carmel, and Virginia Goldman of Mt. Carmel; five brothers, and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, and a baby brother.Private family services were held. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's Association, Hospice of Indiana, or the Veterans Administration. Goodwin Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
