Rex Carlisle Gress, 77, passed away at 3:15 pm on June 2, 2022 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. Rex was born on October 4, 1944 in Washington, IN and he was the son of Rex, Sr. and Ermel Onida (Clements) Gress. He married the love of his life Tonya "Toni" Faye Bledsoe on January 8, 1965 and were married for fifty seven years and they were blessed with two wonderful boys. Rex was owner of Rex Gress and Son's Inc and he felt he never worked a day in his life because he loved his work. He was a graduate of Washington High School and was a member of Bethany Christian Church. Rex was a Godly man expressing that commitment in how he lived. He was a hard worker and a strong leader with a gentle and kind spirit willing to help so many. His desire was for others to know the God he loved. Rex, through his business, had the pleasure of working through out this community getting to know so many and establishing many friendships. We loved him for his love, faithfulness, strength, and wisdom as a Christian husband and father. His wealth was not measured in financial gain, but in his relationships with his family and friends. Rex's door was always open for advice or guidance. He led by example to being a man of his word and would always show up where there was a need.
