Richard Bahr

Richard Lee Bahr, 82, Vincennes, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at his residence. Dick was born December 6, 1929 in Knox County to Edwin and Mary (Cardinal) Bahr. He married Elizabeth "Betty" (Cary) Bahr on February 23, 1952 and she survives. Dick served in the U.S. Navy aboard an experimental patrol craft escort rescue. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He graduated from Decker High School in 1948. He enjoyed working on mowers, doing genealogy and helping those in need. He was a terrific husband, caring father and a good friend to those he met. He formerly worked at Blackford Glass, Gilliant and Thomas, and R & H Truck and Trailer. Dick is survived by his wife, Betty; his daughters, Diane Trinkle and her husband Dean, of Winslow, Donna Heinz and her husband, Mike, of Jasper, Marilyn Fulling and her husband, Eric, of Palestine, Il; Karen Anderson and her husband, Otis, of Vincennes; his sons Richard Bahr and his wife Kathy, of Terre Haute; Tom Bahr and his wife Ruth, of Vincennes; his 19 grandchildren, Mike Trinkle, Tim Trinkle, Stacy Parker, Erik Heinz, Nathan Heinz, Josh Heinz, Kristin Heinz, Jarrod Bahr, Marcia Bahr, Trish Isles, Curt Bahr, Patrick Richardville, Jason Richardville, Jennifer Richardville, Tom Bahr, Ashley Bahr, Zoe Lukens, Brandon Sievers, and Jasmine Anderson; 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Bahr and William Bahr both of Vincennes. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. David Fleck celebrating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home at 6th and Broadway in Vincennes.
