Richard Coy

Richard Coy, of Bridgeport, IL, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at his home. Born May 21, 1956, in Peoria, IL, he was the son of Benjamin and Thelma (Glover) Coy. His parents preceded him, along with his brothers, Alvin, Benjamin, and David Coy; and a step-son, Jeremy Ralston. Survivors include his daughters, Stacy Coy of Lawrenceville, IL, and Tonja Zapata of Pekin, IL; a son, Richard Coy, Jr. of Peoria, IL; three sisters, Vera Piper of Bridgeport, IL, Betty Sullivan of Danville, IL, and Brenda Sullivan of Covington, IN; and eight grandchildren. He had worked for the City of Lawrenceville and Bailey's Wholesale. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, at 11:00 EDT, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 EDT. Interment will be in the Lawrenceville Cemetery. Following the committal service at the cemetery, friends are invited to join the family for a meal at the Lawrenceville American Legion.
