Richard "Dickie" Stengell, 69, of Owensboro passed away Friday, Dec. 1, 2017, at Owensboro Center. He was born April 5, 1948, in Owensboro to the late Maurice K. and Marion Rudy Stengell. He was vice president of various trucking industries. He was a member of St. Stephen Cathedral and also attended Christ Community Church. Dickie enjoyed H.O. model trains, watching Kentucky basketball and golfing. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie and Arthur Stengell. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Lesalie Hicks Stengell; three daughters, Kristen (Henry) Potter of Salt Lake City, Utah, Heather (Darold) Henderson of Springfield, Missouri, and Kari (Robert) Hicks of Willard, Missouri; six granddaughters, Morgan Newman, Logan Hopper, Jamie Hicks, Bella Potter, Caroline Potter and Lucy Potter; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Millie (Charles) Mullican; and numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Haley McGinnis Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The family of Mr. Stengell will welcome friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Prayers will be said at 6:30 Monday.
