Richard "Dick" L. Perry of Vincennes, IN, passed away October 20, 2017, at Oak Village in Oaktown, IN.Dick was a supervisor with Hoosier Energy, having worked at the power plants in Petersburg, IN and later at Merom, IN. From 1964 - 1968, he served in the US Navy. A 3rd Class Machinists Mate, he first served on the aircraft carrier, USS Essex, and then on the destroyer, USS Rowan. Dick was an avid reader, and enjoyed items associated with the history of Vincennes, or the military. He was a member of Vincennes American Legion Post #73, VFW #2459 in Sullivan, IN, and the Indiana Sheriffs Association.After attending Lincoln High School, Dick's family moved to the North Knox area, and he graduated from North Knox High School, where he met his wife of 49 years. Surviving is his wife, Sheila (Higgins) Perry; his sister, Charlotte Snyder and her husband, Robert, of Townsend, TN; his brother-in-law, Lowell Higgins and his wife, Bernadine, of Vincennes; a niece, Tiffany Manning and her husband, Matt, and their children, Reagan and Mason; and a nephew, Todd Snyder and his wife, Briana, and their children Quinton, Kaelen, and Colton.Richard was born December 1, 1946, in Vincennes, to Bernard and Georgia (Ducharme) Perry. His parents preceded him.Friends may visit with Dick's family from 12:00 - 2:00 on Monday, at Goodwin Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 2:00 at the funeral home, and burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.Donations may be made to either the Vincennes Pet Port or to Folds of Honor.
