Richard Spear

Richard "Dick" E. Spear, 79, of Owensville, IN went to be with the Lord July 6, 2020. He was born on August 14, 1940 to the late John and Izetta (Savage) Spear in Garrett County, Maryland. He attended Northern High School in Maryland, where he was an outstanding athlete. Dick married Linda Spear August 21, 1963. He worked for Duke Energy as a heavy equipment operator for more than 28 years. Dick was a member of the Mason Lodge 320 in Bedford, PA for 50 proud years. He enjoyed collecting both knives and guns as well as bartering for knives, watching the Gibson Southern Titans, watching his grandchildren's activities, getting coffee in the morning with friends. He loved his family and will be greatly missed by all. Dick was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Paul, Robert, Vernon, and Charles Spear, Betty Turney, Rita Augustine, Lydia Friend, Evelyn Spear, and Doris Friend. He is survived by his wife, Linda Spear; daughters, Kristy (Larry) York and Jami (Ryan) Allen; grandchildren, Zackary (Emily) York, Jordan York, and Ty Allen; great-grandchild, Weston Peacock and brother James Spear. Holder's Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Spear. Visitation will be held Thursday July 9, 2020 at Holder Funeral Home from 4p-6p. Graveside will be held Thursday July 9, 2020 with Ken Nelson officiating and internment at Maumee Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Maumee Cemetery.
